Rosario Toscano was born in Catania, Italy. He received his engineering degree from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers (CNAM) in March 1994. He receveid his master degree with specialization in control from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquees de Lyon (INSA, National Institute for Applied Sciences), in June 1996. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon in November 2000. He received the HDR degree (Habilitation to Direct Research) from University of Jean Monnet of Saint-Etienne in December 2007. He is currently professor at the Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieurs de Saint-Etienne (ENISE).

R. Toscano is the author or co-author of about seventy research articles, two book chapters, and and three books: “Commande et Diagnostic des Systemes Dynamique (2nd ed) - 2011”, “Fiabilité, Diagnostic et Maintenance Prédictive des Systèmes, 2012”, and “Structured Controllers for Uncertain Systems - A Stochastic Optimization Approach - 2012”.
